150312 “ANGRY MOM” BARO INTERVIEW
Q. We’re interested in your thoughts on being cast in [Angry Mom]. Because I haven’t been part of a project in a while I have worries. I need to have the same sense from when I acted a lot. (laughs) Filming is fun and the atmosphere is good so I am relieved. I have a good feeling about it. Q. How is your chemistry with Kim Yoo Jung, Lizzy, and other fellow cast? I haven’t really acted with them enough yet. (laughs) I think we work well together. With regards to Lizzy we cheered together in Brazil for [Infinite Challenge] so we have good chemistry. I met Yoo Jung during ‘Immortal Song 2′. She is younger than me but a sunbae in acting; I’m amazed because she acts so well. From Yoo Jung I am learning how to really focus. Q. [Angry Mom] Co-star Kim Hwee Sun is a top-star. You must be nervous acting alongside of her? At first I thought, ‘What if I make a mistake in front of sunbae-nim’ so I got nervous every time I came on set. But now after spending time I see that she is a mood maker. She is easy-going, and has a great personality. Q. This is your third project. Including Sang-Tae from [Angry Mom], is there one character whose personality you relate to the most? I see bits of my personality in each of the three characters. Bingurae’s concerns in ‘Reply 1994′ and Young-Gyu’s playfulness and fearfulness in ‘Gods Gift’ reflect my personality. Sang-Tae from [Angry Mom] doesn’t express himself well; if he likes someone he’s the type to watch from afar, that’s exactly like me. Although it is acting, I am comfortable acting by watching Yoo Jung from afar. (laughs) Q. Now that I think about it, you are a singer but you act very well. Because you say that I feel like I would like to do better. If I am to rate my acting up until now I will say that I feel disappointed. If I was given another chance I could do so much better, so I feel some regret. I am trying harder in [Angry Mom] so I don’t feel that regret. I think that acting should be fun. Q. Do you have a particular method for committing to your acting? Do the B1A4 members help you in any aspect? I don’t have a specific ‘know-how’ for acting yet. But I do find it easy to learn my lines. I imagine a lot, and try to act according to that. By doing that I found it easier to memorize. Sometimes I watch movies by myself too. The B1A4 members are too busy to help me with my acting. But they are also the ones who cheer for me the most. Q. Is there a part of [Angry Mom] that you are looking forward to? Hong Sang-Tae in [Angry Mom] has a very picky personality. Even I find him ridiculous (laughs). I’m curious to see how he will change as the drama progresses. Also I hope that those who watch can relate to and be understanding of the school violence represented in [Angry Mom]. I personally have reflected a lot while reading the script. Q. What is your prediction for viewer ratings? Being a bit greedy here, average viewer rating of about 15%?(laughs) I would be happy if the first episode got 7~8%. Q. To Baro, what is [Angry Mom]? It is a third step that will help me really thrive. It is meaningful as my third project, and upon finishing [Angry Mom] I think I will be a better, more developed Baro.
