On the 31st episode of KBS ‘My Neighbor Charles’, B1A4′s Gongchan stated, “I’m upset that racism and prejudices still exist.” [T/N: Caption in the image states “I wish that everyone can open their hearts and look with a more open-mind, and that these issues can quickly be resolved.”] On this episode, Gongchan along with Robert Harley, Hong Seok Cheon and Sayuri gathered to discuss and resolve the concerns of four teachers. On this episode, ‘Rachel’ (one of the teachers) stated that she was surprised when her students requested to be friends through SNS. According to her, in the States students and teachers cannot ‘friend’ each other through SNS. In this situation ‘Rachel’ was stumped by her smiling students’ requests. Sayuri, who thought that American culture was more open, was surprised by this. On this episode, four teachers share their largest worries/concerns as teachers from abroad, in regards to prejudices and misunderstandings towards teachers and individuals from abroad in general. The 31st episode of ‘My Neighbor Charles’ discusses cultural differences between Korea and the US, and will air on the 18th (Tues) at 7:30pm.
