MBC will be presenting a new variety show 7 Hungry Houseguests. On April 24, MBC told Newsen, “Comedian Seo Kyung Seok, Kim Yoo Jung and B1A4’s San Deul confirmed their appearance on the show and are currently filming in China.” The affiliate added, “It’s Park Seok Won PD’s pilot program and the broadcasting schedule has not been decided on yet.” Many fans have reportedly spotted Seo Kyung Seok, Kim Yoo Jung and San Deul shopping and eating in the market streets of China. Meanwhile, 7 Hungry Houseguests is a program featuring on the members trying out food in different countries. Photo credit: Newsen Apink is the real example that even different groups have the opportunity to own the stage while making new friends. At the end of last year, Apink stood up and alternated performing on stage with Girl’s Day, who is well-known as Apink’s rival, at SBS ‘Gayo Daejun’. However, they told us that it’s hard to get close with Girl’s Day. They even shared all the information about their concepts, the appearance they emphasized, or how they decorated the stage, but their concept is just totally different. But, they said that they got close with B1A4, who performed the love song medley stage together with them at MBC ‘Gayo Daejejun’, since the first time they talked. Park Chorong: “Since our debut, we’ve been on the stage together with B1A4 for five times, until now. We also did the street event together, but only at last year’s end, we talked for the first time.” She said, “We spent our times together practicing last year for Christmas Eve. Those guys really had the sense to even write ‘Let’s eat it together’ on a cake. We got close because we ate the cake together.” And then, “We asked each other, like, ‘How old are you?’, ‘What are you doing lately?’ We also asked, ‘Didn’t the performance last time stop you (to perform with us)?’ but, at the end we did lots of performances together.” “When we were all just rookies and both team had to stand on the same stage together, we barely said even a word to each other. Now, we would just greet each other comfortably.” source: tvdaily / translated by: eobguna @ AVIATEB1A4 / Take out with full credit to the source and translator A Pink revealed that they were getting close with B1A4! The girls sat down for an interview with TV Daily, where they talked about being shy. The girls said, "We heard that we were just like 4minute. We're just the same. We're not very close to other singers, so we just hang out by ourselves in the waiting rooms. We just greet a few other groups. We have a lot of fun by ourselves, but in a program with other people, we just sit quietly and say nothing." Chorong added, "Except Eunji, everyone is shy. I think we were worse when we just debuted. But now that we do this, we're starting to talk to others and even greeting them first." On getting close with other groups, the girls confessed that even though they had a swap-stage with Girl's Day last year, they weren't able to get too close. However, the girls revealed that they got close with B1A4 for the first time last year when they had their love song medley. Chorong said, "We've stood on stage with B1A4 about 5 times since debut. We even had an overseas event together, but we just started to talk last year at the end of the year. We were practicing, so we spent Christmas eve together. But they were really nice and they bought cake and invited us to eat with them. We got close when we ate together." She added, "We were asking each other things like, 'how old are you?' and 'what are you doing lately?', and then we got to, 'Didn't we stand on stage together last time?'. We realized we've been on stage together really often. We even had a time where we stood on stage together as rookies. But both teams don't really talk, so we just started to talk to each other." Until now, the news that singers from idol singing groups are filming a drama or a movie have been criticized by many. People have worried about their immature acting skills interfering with the whole of the movie or the drama. Lee Joon, Ba Ro, and Han Sun Hwa had the same start as any other singer turned actors. Nobody predicted that they would be successful actors and actresses. However, they started small and played their roles perfectly, drawing a line on their capacity as actors and actresses. MBLAQ Lee Joon in the drama "Gap Dong Yi" plays an ordinary citizen who is, deep inside, a psychopath who admires the serial killer Gap Dong Yi. B1A4 Ba Ro in the SBS drama "God's Gift - 14 Days" plays the autistic boy Ki Young Kyoo, who is naïve and warm. Secret's Han Sun Hwa also currently stars in the SBS drama "God's Gift - 14 Days" as Jenny. Jinyoung in “Miss granny” For the 20s-30s audiences, it is not B1A4 Jinyoung’s face which is familiar. Rather than that, the other group member, Baro, who appeared in ‘Reply 1994’ is more well-known among the public. But, if we consider Jinyoung’s position in B1A4, then I will not wonder why he got casted for the role of Ban Ji Ha in ‘Miss Granny’. Ban Ji Ha is a leader of unpopular band and he is also in charge in writing the band’s songs. He sings with his discolored yellowish hair and pure white make-up on his face. In fact, Jinyoung has composed most of B1A4’s songs. Hit tracks, such as; ‘What’s Happening?’ and ‘Lonely’ were also born from his mind. For Jinyoung, although it was not a big role, but to be casted into the movie, it had been such a fortunate job. It is not lije we directly get to play a wishful character since the beginning, instead, we start from a supporting cast and we’ll be on that top state step by step. Now, we just need to look into Jinyoung who moves one step further, raising his skill. source: starm / translated by: eobguna @ AVIATEB1A4 / Take out with full credits to ther source and translator If there was no time limit for our interview, we might have been chatting until the break of dawn. When they were asked about the TV variety show they feel the most confident on, they all chose ‘R-rated (age 19 and over)’ <SNL Korea> as if they had prearranged it. They were also busy making jokes at one another by ranking the members based on their looks. Here is a late-night interview with B1A4, the nation’s ‘boyfriend idol’. You guys finally held a concert in Busan, hometown of Sandeul, on March 1st. Sandeul, you might feel like you returned home in glory. Sandeul: I was more nervous because the venue was my hometown. Our fans say that the impression and excitement they get from the concert linger in their mind for a week after it ends, and I feel the same way. Baro: If we can give a concert in my hometown Gwangju later, I’d like to sing out song titled ‘Seoul’ changing the name of city to ‘Gwangju’. Actually, I practiced performing it with a Gwangju accent, but that was quite a daunting challenge. I think we had better sing it with revised lyrics. Your second arena concert in Japan is held soon in April. When was your most impressive moment at the concerts in Japan? Baro: In the Yokohama arena concert, our fans wrote our name ‘B1A4’ in a giant letter with their fluorescent glow sticks They almost made me cry. I felt like I was looking at the starts in the darkness of the universe. CNU: I was so amazed and grateful to see Japanese fans screaming out our birth names in Korean. For television music ranking programs or concerts, you guys perform on stage in the name of B1A4 as a whole while KBS’ <Immortal Songs> gives you another meaningful experience because it is an opportunity for you to show your own individual originality. CNU: I’ve got more chances to communicate with the middle-aged fans after appearing on <Immortal Songs> Sandeul: I get nervous whenever I perform on stage of <Immortal Songs> because I’m all alone without my wings. The first question I asked to myself looking into the mirror was “Do you trust yourself?”, and the answer was “I’m not sure”, which made me practice two to three times as hard as I do in a group. I’m constantly pushing myself. Baro, you are now starring as Ki Yonggyu in SBS drama <God’s Gift — 14 Days>, but I heard you were cast as a different role at first. Baro: I was offered the role named Wang Byeongtae, a hacker working for a private investigator office, but I was afraid I couldn’t do it well. In fact, I couldn’t pull it off even when I was reading the script. On the day of audition, the director told me to read the lines of Ki Yonggyu, and I got the feeling at first sight. It was the very character I have long desired to play at least once. You spend most of your time shooting with Kim Yoobin, who plays Han Saetbyeol in the drama. Did you become closer with her? Baro: I thought we became friends, so I was joking a lot, but Yoobin is such a cool little girl. She is a bona-fide actress. I like playing with children to be on friendly terms, which turned out be my misunderstanding. It’s really hard to get close to her. Lee Boyoung is also teasing me by talking to Yoobin, “Don’t hang out with this boy.” I think I have become everybody’s favorite Aunt Sally on the set. You are supposed to go to Brazil as soon as you finish your drama. How did you come to join the cheering squad of MBC’s <Infinite Challenge>? Baro: At the year-end awards show last year, Noh Hongchul and Jung Hyungdon came to see me to propose the audition. That being said, they were actually very mean to me at the audition. I have no idea why I have become a character being teased. I’m not that kind of person at all between our members. Now, I can understand what Sandeul feels like when he is always the target of nasty jokes in the team. Lately, Gongchan rated the members in the team based on your looks on SBS MTV’s <The Show>. Gongchan, you ranked yourself the first place in the team without hesitation. Gongchan: Well, my name involuntarily burst out of my mouth because it was the 60 seconds interview. In fact, I would say Jinyoung is No. 1, Baro No. 2, and me No. 3. I’m not going to say further. I’ll stop there. (Laugh) Sandeul: He didn’t even mention my name at the time, too. Then, why don’t you, Sandeul, rank the members again? Sandeul: Fair’s fair. The first place is Gongchan, the 2nd Jinyoung, the 3rd CNU, the 4th me, and the last Baro. I’m full of confidence in my looks when I see Baro. It’s not because I disrespect him, but both of us are often bickering jokingly about who looks better. In spire of your hectic schedule, have you ever felt lonely like your title track ‘Lonely’, which was released in January? Baro: I feel like something is missing in my heart when I get home from the filming set or when I go out to eat for a while. I get awfully sentimental in spring. When I’m alone, I get easily agitated that I sometimes scream out. If I had some free time, I could have played soccer and sweated, which would make me feel refreshed. I’d really like to go to an amusement park if I get one day off from the drama shooting. It is driving me crazy. I’ve never been on Everland’s ‘T-EXPRESS’. Sandeul: I turn into a man who gets sentimental in fall when I’m left alone after having a chat with members. It seems odd, but I enjoy those moments. When I feel empty in my heart, I’m walking down the streets at the mercy of the wind. Things get clearer when I simply pass the time roaming around alone. Jinyoung: Sometimes I hanker after love. I am tempted to try to seek true love even though I’m with the members. It is a lie if I don’t want to have a relationship. I believe I can find my soul mate someday. But now, it’s time to focus on my career and I don’t want to cause any inconvenience to the other members. Now that you guys are in the third year since your singing debut, can you say about what you are used to and what you still aren’t? Jinyoung: Now I’m used to gazing at the cameras, but waking up early is still hard to me. Baro: I’m used to appearing on the music ranking programs, but not on variety shows. It takes a long time to get familiar with entertainment programs unless you are a regular cast member. Sandeul: I feel comfortable with singing or acting but I feel some pressure to make people laugh on variety shows. Let’s pick out one at this point: what is your favorite TV variety show you feel the most confident on? <Radio Star> featuring sharp tongues; <Running Man> requiring stamina; <Sketchbook> focusing on music itself; and <SNL Korea> standing for adult comedy. Gongchan: I’ll pick TvN’s <SNL Korea> with Shin Dongyup, hahaha. I really enjoyed watching the episode where Park Sungwoong appeared as the host. Sandeul: I like everything except the talk shows. I’ll choose <SNL Korea>, too. I can play any characters. Haha. Baro: I’d like to appear on SBS’ <Running Man> because I like running, obviously. I can do adult comedy well, but I will do it later for our younger fans. (Laugh) Jinyoung: I’ll pick KBS’ <2 Days & 1 Night> because I can show up for a long period of time on TV. Besides, I think I’ll be able to defeat all other cast members taking lead in the games. You have been experiencing so many things, from being ranked number one on the music chart to giving your own concert and going on arena tours in Japan. Do you have anything else you want to add? Baro: To go on a world tour, be ranked on the Billboard chart, and win a Grammy Award. These are my dreams. Sandeul: I’d like to perform a concert until I die old even though I have to lean on the walking stick. There is a famous saying that goes, ‘I want to die on stage’, which I don’t find cool at all. What is more more desirable is to die after going down the stage with all the performances completed. Jinyoung: I believe it’s time to draw a big picture. I’m now deeply thinking about the members, our future, and how to get ourselves widely recognized. When is your next album expected to come out? Jinyoung: I think it should come out within this year. On the 10th, ‘God’s Gift - 14 Days’ (Choi Ran writer, Lee Donghoon casting director) the OST directors revealed, “B1A4’s Sandeul, who has been confirmed as having a masterpiece voice, participated in an OST.” Sandeul sang ‘God’s Gift - 14 Days’ OST ‘Because It Hurts.’ With a medium tempo, the dramatic ‘Because It Hurts’ is Ki Dongchan’s (Jo Seungwoo) theme song. The music director Park Ki-hyun, who’s done movies, to dramas, and even the musical ‘Pungwolju,’ has decided on his territory and composed the songs, with Kang Misun writing the lyrics. 'Because It Hurts,' with it's guitar instrumental version has already featured in 'God's Gift - 14 Days.' The song expressed the pains that Ki Dongchan carries with him well, and has received good reviews as a result. As mentioned before, the reason the person to sing the OST of ‘God’s Gift - 14 Days’ is “Sandeul released his first drama OST to support his B1A4 member Baro, who is currently acting as Younggyu. Sandeul, through ‘Because It Hurts,’ displayed a new side of himself.” 'Because It Hurts' sung by Sandeul and released on the 8th, has and is receiving the hot love of the fans. On another note, in ‘God’s Gift - 14 Days,’ to save the kidnapped daughter (Kim Yoobin), the mother (Lee Boyoung) time warps to two weeks before the incident to play a game of two brains with the mysterious kidnapper, and it is a mystery drama with many emotions. It airs every Monday, and Tuesday at 10 pm. Source: TVReport / trans cr: afterJJyoung @ AVIATEB1A4 / Take out with full credit to the sources and translator |
