[NEWS] Baro’s first animation dubbing ‘Seven Dwarfs’: “Addicting attraction” Baro challenged animation dubbing for the first time in his life. ‘Seven Dwarfs’ (importer: Smilent; distributor: Megabox PlusM), a remake of children’s classic story which captivated the world since 200 years ago, Snow White, will be released in the middle of winter break, on December 24. B1A4 Baro challenged his first animation dubbing as the youngest dwarf, Bobo. Baro, who previously showed his acting skill through ‘Reply 1994’ and ‘God’s Gift’, now will meet fans through his vocal acting. Baro’s character is Seven Dwarfs’ lead character, the youngest dwarf Bobo. Bobo is a young and pure dwarf. He has big curiosity on everything, which leads him to make a fatal mistake. Later, to make up for his mistake, together with six other dwarves Bobo take risk and go on a long journey in order to save fairy tales’ characters that get into crisis. Since this is Baro’s first challenge in dubbing, he’s very excited and nervous at the same time. “I didn’t know voice acting is this difficult. However, it keeps drawing me in. Bobo and I have some similar personality, so I think my voice match Bobo’s character well.” Baro stated his confidence. Not only the kids who are waiting for ‘Seven Dwarfs’, parents also anticipate the youngest of tvN ‘Youth Over Flowers’ trio ChilHaeBing, Baro’s first dubbing challenge. The film ‘Seven Dwarfs’ talks about how the kingdom and fairy tales’ characters fall into crisis because of a crucial mistake, and how the seven dwarfs go to rescue and regain their reputation through comic adventure. The seven dwarfs, who used to be forever supporting roles, now become the leading characters and offer cheerful laughter. The film will be released on December 24. Please anticipate the movie! trans cr: zest @ AVIATEB1A4 [Preview] Baro ~ 'Miseng' Mini Drama [CR: hlwbu @ YT] As some of you know our dearest Baro is currently recoding his participation on the short film Misaeng based on the webtoon / manhwa of the same name. I took the liberty of doing some research and I found out it is actually a pretty serious kind manhwa. Below I found an article that explains the whole story. I found it interesting and would like to read it. Right now it is available up to volume 6 but only in Korean... in Korea. I only found good reviews on it as an amazing and exceptional work of art. So with all this even when Baro isn't perhaps a big roll it is really important that he is part of this project. I just hope they stay true to the characters and the story but I am pretty quite sure they will since it is kind of complicated and fans would hate it with passion. NOTE: The Korean Comic Book Misaeng (“Misaeng” (未生 “The one who has not lived yet”): War of attrition in the corporate office was written by Emanuel Pastreich on September 16, 2012 for Korea Circles and Squares
Korean comic books (“Manhwa” as opposed to the Japanese “Manga”) have increased their sophistication with incredible speed over the last five years. I do not read comic books as a rule, and my exposure is limited to the educational manhwa my children read at home. But when I saw an article about the new manhwa series “Misaeng” (未生 “The one who has not lived yet”) I had to have a copy. It is a remarkable work of art that deserves to be widely read and analyzed. Misaeng, the work of Yoon Taeho (윤태호), describes the claustrophobic interpersonal relations between employees of Korean corporations, focusing on the banality of everyday life and the little struggles and tiny victories of survival in a corporate culture. The analogy that dominates the book is between life in modern society and the game of baduk or “go” as it is known in Japanese. The cover of Misaeng features the relentless grid which suggests the gameboard of baduk, the unrelenting banality of office design (or the exteriors of office buildings) and the ruthless game of office politics that dominates the lives of individuals. Note the office chairs placed on a baduk board. Each chapter of the multi-volume series features a particular scenario from baduk, reinforcing the analogy between the slow war of attrition based on positioning in baduk and office life. The protagonist of Misaeng is Jang Gurae, a young man who starts out as an apprentice to the national baduk Association. After his father’s sudden death, Jang Gurae finds his family in serious financial straits. When he fails to qualify as a baduk player, he enters the corporate world. Quiet and introspective, baduk is the underlying formula for his survival. Newsis announced that ‘Miseng’, a popular webtoon in the Daum community, will be produced as a mobile short film.
Lim Siwan from ZE:A acts as ‘Jang Geurae’, a main character, and there will be appearances from Lee Changmin from 2AM, Baro from B1A4, Jo Heebong, Kim Bora and many more in this short film. Son Taegyeom and Kim Taehee, who are under 30 years old and haven’t debuted with a long movie, are going to direct this film. Min Yeji, the writer, composed sequels for 6 characters from ‘Miseng’. Each character will have their own episode, and the series will have a total of 6 episodes. They will start recording on the 7th, and the first chapter will be aired via Daum App, Daum’s mobile portal, on the 24th.
