"Recently I’ve been watching the drama Baro is in, ‘God’s Gift’ well. In the first episode, I thought Baro could have a hard time getting into his characters so we talked about, ‘What feeling would go well, and just talked together. Now, without being too excessive, he is playing the character ‘as it should be,’ and I become immersed in it. In the May issue of Ten Asia’s magazine ‘10+Star’, B1A4’s leader Jinyoung, talked about his same team member Baro’s acting. Like he said, ‘God’s Gift - 14 Days’ (or ‘God’s Gift’) which Baro is part of, in the beginning episodes 1 and 2, Baro seemed confused about Younggyu, and how to express Younggyu. Because it’s not possible to act out his character just with a naive, young child’s way of speaking and acting as if he knows nothing, it must have been hard. At a young age, due to a confrontation with a kidnapper where he got shot, he ended up in the mind of a 6-year-old. Although he is in the body of a 16-year-old boy going through puberty, but because of his mental development, Baro came to play a slightly difficult character. Before ‘God’s Gift’ Baro had acted in the movie ‘Miseng’ and the drama ‘Reply 1994’ just two works, so to him acting as Younggyu in ‘God’s Gift’ was not a safe and comfortable choice, but an adventure and a challenge. Originally he auditioned for a completely different role in the drama, so to become Yonggyu and completely understand him, Baro needed some more time. However due to the director’s advice, Baro improvised his audition for Younggyu, having lots of potential with Younggyu’s character he was given Younggyu’s role. Even until the 8th episode of ‘God’s Gift,’ Younggyu was just a good friend of Saetbyul (Kim Yoobin), but in the 9th episode Younggyu clearly began to change. He was able to undertake the handicapped Younggyu, from just a blank face and bright smile, and as Baro began to show off his acting skills, the thing called Younggyu was able to become a important part of the drama. The revolving point of the whole incident has to do with Saetbyul. Within all the happenings, his sincerity for Saetbyul, and to uphold his promise with Soohyun (Lee Boyoung), the effort Younggyu puts in, makes him seem realistic. Also almost all of the characters are somehow tied to Saetbyul’s killer, and in the middle of it all, the safest feeling towards Saetbyul, is his only want to ‘play with Saetbyul.’ His pure white want that Younggyu has come with so for, makes him stand out and only goes on from there. In front of this Younggyu, whatever happens, whatever unexpected incident occurs, he will definitely stand out above the others. Because of that, now in ‘God’s Gift,’ that’s over halfway done, the anticipation for Baro’s interpretation of Younggyu.
